The Bestdent absorbable PGA suture consists of a braided thread of synthetic material composed of polyglycolic acid. They are coated with a mixture of polycaprolactone and calcium stearate and are colourless.
The progressive loss of tensile strength, mass and absorption of the sutures occurs through a hydrolytic process. The loss of tensile strength efficiency is approximately 50% after 21 days of suture application. Suture absorption occurs between 60 and 90 days.
Individually packaged in sterile packs.
